How does AstroTalk work?
You sign up, add money to a wallet, pick an astrologer from the list and start a chat or call. Each astrologer sets a per-minute rate, which is deducted as you talk. AstroTalk's own help pages say the free first chat is for new users only and can be used once per account.
Published reviews put paid rates from roughly ₹10 to ₹250 a minute, depending on the astrologer's popularity and experience. AstroTalk also sells remedies such as gemstones and pujas through its in-app shop.
Good for: a human conversation, follow-up questions, someone who listens. Watch out for: long chats on a running meter, and being upsold remedies you did not ask about.
How does AstroSage work?
AstroSage started as kundli software. Enter your birth date, time and place and you get a full Vedic chart for free: lagna, planets, nakshatras, Vimshottari dasha, divisional charts like the navamsa (D9), plus daily horoscope, panchang and horoscope matching.
The free version carries ads. On top of the free tools, AstroSage sells detailed written reports, offers AstroSage AI (a chat that answers questions about your computed chart) and paid consultations with astrologers.
Good for: seeing your own chart in depth, checking dashas, matching two kundlis free. Watch out for: a dense interface that can overwhelm beginners, and ads in the free tier.
Which is cheaper, AstroTalk or AstroSage?
For the chart itself, both are free. The cost difference is in interpretation:
- AstroTalk charges by time. A 15-minute chat at ₹40 a minute is ₹600, plus GST.
- AstroSage charges per report or service. Its core calculations stay free however long you use them.
If you mostly want to know your chart, AstroSage costs nothing. If you want someone to talk to, AstroTalk's meter is the price.
Which is more accurate?
Accuracy of the chart depends on the calculation. Indian kundli apps generally default to the sidereal zodiac with Lahiri ayanamsa, the Indian standard, so for the same birth details your lagna, rashi and dasha should match on both. If they don't, check that the birth time and place were entered the same way.
Accuracy of the predictions cannot be compared. Astrology is not independently tested, and a reading depends on the individual astrologer or AI, not on the app's brand.
When should you use AstroTalk, and when AstroSage?
- First time, curious about your chart: start with AstroSage's free kundli.
- Facing a specific decision and want to talk it through: AstroTalk's free first chat, then decide.
- Checking a marriage match: either one. The guna milan score will be the same. Read what the score means.
- Want quick answers without a per-minute meter: an AI app. See AI astrology apps.
